Teaser Trailers

There are several differences between theatrical trailers and teaser trailers. A teaser trailer is primarily used to create awareness of a new film. For example, a teaser trailer could be made whilst the film is still used in post-production. This is evident in the paranormal activity trailer in which several clips shown in the teaser are not shown in the final film. The time of a teaser is comparitively shorter than that of theatrical trailer, often giving quick glimpses of action and subtly highlighting the plot in order to create intrigue. The theatrical trailer is used as a later-stage of advertisement. Quite literally, a teaser trailer teases the audiences and creates a knowledge of it's existence. This newly known existence is then exploited by the theatrical trailer, which leads to the film itself.
